I couldn't sleep last night so i was up at o'dark thirty, counting down the hours until we were to sign papers and take Zoe from the hospital. We were on our way out the hotel door to find breakfast when we got a phone call from the social worker -- "Child Protective Services won't release her until they get a court order from the judge. Just a technicality that has to wait until Monday. I'm a Christian, I will pray!" Kudos for divine connections - we got the only Christian social worker this agency has! We didn't get to bring her with us today, but the good news is that we signed a bunch of papers that makes her legally ours! Wahoo! We did the happy dance.

As we signed papers and talked with our wonderful social worker in a side room off the hospital nursery, we got to talking about the Lord, adoption and Lou Engle. Turns out that Lou was just at this woman's church a few weeks ago and prophesied over the city. She pointed over Zoe's bassinett, out the window and to a mountain in the distance. "See that mountain? There is going to be 24/7 prayer on that mountain - and Lou Engle prayed and blessed it!" It felt like a dream. We told her of our "Lou Connection" and she was so amazed she called her husband. We all looked at Zoe and wondered what in the world the Lord had for her that He paved the way so clearly and with so much prophetic promise over her life!

We did find a Whole Foods today (thank the Lord!) and also an In-n-Out so we are sufficiently stocked with a balance of junk food and nutritional prodcuts. I don't know what we would do without Susie, our affectionate term for the navigation system that our rental car is equipped with. We tell Susie where we want to eat, shop or visit and she gets us there. It's actually kind of creepy how it all works, but we wouldn't have gotten our burgers and souvenier hats without her!

Off to sleep -- back at the hospital for the morning feeding! We are now in the world of diapers and spit-up again. And there's no place like it!

Well, you prophecied your 'Lou Engle' moment in your blog yesterday. Little did you know....
