Today has been another in a series of whirlwinds. We spent the day between the hospital and shopping for a car seat. If you have ever shopped for a car seat in Las Vegas you know it's not quite like bee-bopping over to Town Center or Tri-County Mall or "fill-in-the-blank-with-any-mid-western-city-shopping-area". Fortunately because of the favor of God and the amazing adoption story that we tell everyone who will listen, we got a free upgrade to a BrianKim car that talks to you and tells you where to go. For real - we just type in "Target" or "Baby Depot" and it tells us where the closest one is and how to get there. Grace for the navigationally challenged!

It rained in the desert today and there was a double rainbow - just another kiss and an arrow in the prophetic arsenal of promises that help us wage war (1 Tim). For all of you who have walked the road with us of Burning Man, The Call and the Spirit of Adoption, you know exactly what I mean. (C'Mon!!)

We met the birthmother today quite unexpectedly. We went for the afternoon feeding and there she was, holding little Zoe. I wasn't quite sure what to do. I hugged her and told her thank you. She told us she was glad that her baby would have parents and that she would sign the papers in the morning, then she walked out the door. It was one of the more surreal experiences of my life. Probably not the last.

I have so much emotion and so many thoughts to record, but at this very moment I am afraid if I don't put my head on a pillow I may very well fall asleep sitting up. I look forward to the next few days -- bringing Zoe back to the hotel with us, not having to leave her with all the other babies in the secondary nursery on the 6th floor in the middle of this crazy city; taking tons of pictures and documenting this incredible journey; seeing California friends who will come to celebrate with us; finding a Whole Foods and loading up on some good eatums (after a trip to In-n-Out, of course).

The good news is that we are in a new hotel, perhaps the ONLY hotel in the city that has absolutely no gaming on the property. So I can sleep - and maybe sleep in for the last night in a long time. Tomorrow we put our signatures to the documents that give life to one otherwised abandoned in this city that means "grassy meadow, open field". I feel a Lou Engle moment coming on...........to be continued. (I used to hate it when the Brady Bunch ended that way!)
