KITTENS HAVE COME.....

Today was the first day of our boys' fund raising garage sale. They are working hard to earn enough money to go to the various camps they have chosen for the summer. It is going quite well and the excitement centered around Grayson's Concession Stand (offering Gramma's fresh made cinnamon rolls!) until Jackson ran around from the back of the house and announced, "Hey guys, there is a mama cat with 5 kittens that is living under our deck!" The novelty of the garage sale had just worn off and they all ran to see the new residents. We quickly had to doll out a bowl of milk and a can of tuna for our furry friends. Already I've been asked if we can keep all of the kittens. (Never mind the fact that the last kitten I came home with was when I was 17 and he attacked me every morning when I came down the stairs, clawing at my legs and ruining my hose that I was wearing because I went to a Christian school where we had to wear a dress every day....but I'm not bitter. Really.) (I finally wised up and started putting on my hose in the car on the way to school. Never mind that I was driving. 70 mph. On Interstate 75. Huh, on second thought, that wasn't so wise.) So anyway, back to the kittens in the back yard. So Grayson has already named most of them. The mama is "Tally" (and he doesn't even like twangy gospel music!), the babies so far are Nemo and Zach. After Jackson suggested that he would name them after old-time preachers, Grayson named the 3rd one "Steve". Upon inquiry he replied, "Steve Sjogren.....he's a preacher." We were thinking more the Whitfield, Wesley, Edwards type. But who knows, maybe it's a seeker friendly cat.

I'd name the other two Rick and Joel...

Oh My Kelsey!
First rule of motherhood, if you feed it, you own it!
I have dressed in speeding cars before, but not while I was driving. When our children were small, sometimes the kids would be dressed and I would still be putting on shoes, etc, while the man of the house drove us to our destination..

No thanks, I don't want a kitten. But thanks for probably thinking about me!

So what happened to the Grama's cinnamon rolls?!?

We ate them. The cinnamon rolls. Not the cats.

They made a whopping 5 bucks on the refreshment stand. We may try a new marketing technique next time around.
