Family Time with the Bohlenders!

We are all home for the evening and I had the thought that since Baby Zoe will be here soon, we should make going to register for baby stuff a family event. The thought was to include the boys, make them feel a part of the process and all that psychobabble. My suggestion was met with varied response:

GRAYSON: Can I make my own resigtry? Like for toys and stuff?

ZION: Oh, good. We can register so that when she comes, if we take her back with the receipt we can get a boy!!

JACKSON: That's a great idea, Mom. But only at Target, not BabiesRUs. Somewhere with an electronics department.

RANDY: I don't think your idea is having the response you thought it might.

You can so tell I live with a house full of BOYS!!

OK, that's cool, I thought. We will just have a fun evening at home. I had a pack of organic hot dogs (I still wonder if that is really possible) and I threw them on the grill for a quick dinner. ZZ wanted "beanies and weinies" so I opened up a can of beans to warm up on my brand new stainless steel stove (Wahoo!). Dinner was done in record time and all was well until I grabbed the peppercorn grinder to spice up the beanies and it broke in half into the pot! Peppercorns scattered everywhere and onto the hot eye of the stove and has now turned my kitchen into an incense parlor. Laughter commenced and Jackson, being incredibly 13, offered to eat the whole thing for a dollar. Cheap entertainment.

It's truly is NEVER dull around here!

Sounds like you have "consecrated" your new kitchen in fine Bohlender fashion! Does the cartoon "Family Circus" sound familiar?

You're family tales seem so oddly familiar....peppercorns on a hot grill, hotdog "product", and exchanging baby with the original receipt, of course! Family Circus meets Seinfeld?

I think Jackson might have learned that from STI. Oops! Sorry.

Next time all the boys give you a hard time tell them you are gonna make them sit through an hour of Libby Lu shopping at Oak Park mall with their sister when she is old enough! If you've never been there it is PINK, GIRLY, FRILLY, GLITTERY and Sammy's favorite place to go be a total girl!
