Food, Friends and FUN

Tonight it felt a little like Christmas. Every year I enjoy cooking, baking and downright feasting with friends during the holiday season. This year all of the festivities have been a bit scattered because of someone under 2 feet tall. Not that I mind it, you see -- hospitality just hasn't been a real possibility the last few weeks. But tonight felt festive. We had Tim, Misty and Jenny over for a home cooked meal (haven't cooked for Mr. Timness since Zoe was born, so it was high time), complete with pot roast and Christmas cookies. The conversation ranged from demonic cats to Lindell Cooley to the holocaust conference in Iran. It was simply delightful! I love laughing and pondering with true comrades!

In the middle of recounting our F-16, RUN!, evacuate the capital story, we heard a rapping at the back window. Soon we saw a face staring at us -- then suddenly Allen Hood comes through our back door just to say hello followed by his wife Rachel. They had just been out looking at Christmas lights and thought they would stop and harass us a bit by stalking our backyard. Life is never dull around here.

Zion had to play drums a bit with Tim. Misty made up a new song for him. "Z-I-O-N, Zion, because I like him!" Of course, he couldn't look at her he was so enamored. It was totally cute.

We sent them home with plates full of cookies and were left with warm hearts. Tonight was just plain fun.

oh My Isabelle will be quite jealous. She too is quite enamored by Misty. The minute we moved in she kept saying "When can we have Misty over for dinner".
Another time, as John and I were leaving on a outing, we reminded the kids not to answer our door, and Isabelle said "Well what if it's Misty?" I said, "Well I supposed if Misty Edwards comes to the door you may let her in!"
She is desperately learning Guitar with hopes of playing for Misty some day!
Perhaps she and Zion should start practicing together and get ready!

Thank YOU for such a fun night and for EVERYTHING! :) It was good to be in a "family's" home... around kiddo's and Christmas spirit... and the food was yummy and beautiful. :)

And I haven't had a chance to hang out with Mystify for awhile - so that was a treat too. We like you guys so much... and next time I'm bringing my husband!

Is 'belle the one Misty said offered to play on a team, but she only knew the "G" chord? "Well, I can just play the G's". We laughed so hard at that story!!

"J-E-N-N-Y, Jenny -- because we like her!"

That was our darlin' Isabelle! We used to call her "the G Master", but had to loose that title since she's learned a few more chords!

She was actually introduced to Misty the other day by her brother Nick, and was rendered speechless.
